Susan’s article, “Charity Should Begin At Home: Help clients develop a satisfying approach to philanthropy” was published in the October 2015 charitable giving issue of the prestigious Trusts & Estates magazine. The article discusses how parents can model philanthropic behavior for their children, and how advisors can use their personal philanthropic activities to guide clients while building their professional networks.

This private family meeting included both parents and the three children, all in college and high school. Topics included a general discussion of the family’s overall estate plan so the children could better manage their expectations as they begin to select their career paths; other topics included engaging the next generation in the family’s philanthropy, and the family’s expectations around prenuptial agreements.
