As we all know, our nation is so divided now. Be it at Thanksgiving dinner or any other gathering, the possibility of angry differing points of view is now more likely than ever. With the ongoing pandemic, social distancing, and other safety protocols, families are being forced to rethink family meetings. In light of these obstacles, the need for families to communicate about their goals, values, hopes, and dreams is more crucial than ever. Read Susan’s latest interview, Directly Address the New Tensions at the Holiday Dinner Table, published in Insights for Leaders on November 19, 2020.

Susan was prominently quoted in the JCF’s study on the multigenerational UHNW family, “Bridging the Generational Divide: Advising the Multigenerational UHNW Family,” on multigenerational, ultra-high net worth families who face challenges passing down their wealth to the next generation. JCF surveyed financial advisors, attorneys, and service providers on proven strategies for bridging generational divides and creating sustainability in the client-advisor relationship. Susan advises families that, “Communication needs to be not just multigenerational; it should be multi-directional.”

We are honored and humbled that Susan has been awarded the prestigious “WOMEN IN WEALTH MANAGEMENT AWARD” by Family Wealth Report Awards 2020. In these challenging times, it is indeed quite a bright light and honor to be recognized by my peers for being, in the judges’ words: “one of the few women on the national speaking circuit who is guiding financial services firms and their clients to connect with the human side of the client relationship.”

Accepting the award was a real honor since I know from personal experience that it is given only after a thorough judging process conducted independently of Family Wealth Report commercial influence by family office and wealth management industry peers. We were included with a most impressive group of finalists, and we were extremely proud and honored to receive the award.
